Whangarei District Libraries' Māori collections are available for lending in all branches, with a comprehensive reference collection in the Māori Room at Whangarei Central Library.
Reference material may not be borrowed, however there are photocopying facilities available.
All Maori material is identified by a kowhaiwhai symbol, and reference materials have a red 'R’ sticker.
Our Māori books include:

- non fiction: language and literature, natural history, philosophy and religion, science, social sciences, technology, the arts, whakapapa.
Five Maori Painters
