Stepping Up

An exciting programme that helps you take your computer skills to the next level.

Stepping UP is an ICT (Information and Communications Technology) training programme aimed at people in Computers in Homes communities.

The Stepping Up digital literacy programme provides free courses to help you build your computer and online skills. The classes are designed for people with basic computer skills.

Each module takes 2 hours to complete with the support of a tutor.

There is a maximum of 6 per session.

Classes will be held at the E-Learning Centre in Whangarei Central Library, 5 Rust Ave, Whangarei.

Spark Jump. Spark Jump

Spark Jump is a new low-cost, pre-pay internet service for families with school-aged children, subsidised by the Spark Foundation and offered through Spark Jump community partners in association with the 20/20 Trust. In Whangarei this subsidised broadband scheme is available through Taitokerau Education Trust and Whangarei Central Library.

Free workshops on how to setup and use Spark Jump are provided at the Library by Stepping Up. See schedule below for Spark Jump workshop dates and times.

Jump Start costs $15 for a pre-paid 30 GB data pack and WiFi modem use; the data-pack expires after 30 days and so must be topped up monthly. A free $15 Spark Jump voucher for the first top up is sent to you when you set up your modem at home.
