There are all sorts of activities to join in with at the Library. Here you can find out about what's coming soon.

Homework help

In the library - There is a librarian in the Children's Room at Whangarei Central Library every day from 3.30 - 5 pm for help with the finding information on the library catalogue and tips on how to research for homework.

Oversize picture books

Ever wonder what a FROG on the spine means? A book spine that is! This Frog collection of books is for older kids who enjoy more sophisticated tales with often fantastic illustrations. Check them out today!

Quick reads

If you are in a rush, it's time to dash past the Quick Reads shelf and pick up a fast furious fun book. Quick to pick- and quick to read!

Bilingual books

If you are interested in a second language have a look at this collection. Each book is written in English and another language. Some of the languages are French, German, Arabic, Chinese and Spanish.

Request to buy

If you have seen a really good book that you like, you can ask us to buy it for the library. This request will go automatically to the Children's Librarian who will purchase the book if it is available and suitable for the collection.
