NZ Book Awards for Children & Young Adults 2016

The finalist books in the 2016 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, including the HELL Children's Choice Awards.

NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults 2016.  
 

The New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults celebrate for outstanding books for children and young adult by New Zealand authors and illustrators.

The awards acknowledge excellence in the following categories: Picture Book Award, Esther Glenn Junior Fiction Award, Elsie Locke Non-Fiction Award, Young Adult Fiction Award, Russell Clark Illustration Award and Te Kura Pounamu Award.

The 2016 finalists have been announced and are featured below. Children and young adults aged 18 and under also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite finalist books in the HELL Children's Choice Award. The winners ​were announced in Wellington on 8 August 2016.​
