How to renew items
Items may be renewed twice unless someone else has placed a request or hold on them.
You can renew items by:
Visiting the library
Bring the items you wish to renew with your library card into any of our libraries.
Telephone
Phone us on +64 9 430 4206 during library opening hours:
- 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday
- 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays
- 10 am to 1 pm on Sundays
Using My Account in the Library Catalogue
Log In to My Account
Click on the My Account link in the top blue banner of the library catalogue to open your account details, then click on the Library Checkouts tab (1):

If you have any overdue items, an alert icon will appear on this tab.
The Library Checkouts section displays the items that you have currently checked out.
If you have any items that are overdue, they will appear at the top of the list with the alert icon (2).
You can click on the title or image of any item to view its detail page.
To renew books, magazines and Movie DVDs
If you want to renew items, select the items you want to renew (or select them all by using the Select All check box (3) and then click the Renew button (4).
Items cannot be renewed
If Privilege has expired message appears under an item, then it cannot be renewed.
You will be unable to renew an item if:
- Another library member has placed a request or hold on it
- It has already been renewed twice
- It is a latest issue magazine on 3 day loan
- it is a new release movie DVD.
Group’s Current Checkouts
If you belong to a user group, the Group's Current Checkouts section will display all the items that are currently checked out by all the members of your group.
Note: If you are not a member of a group, the Group's Current Checkouts section won't display in your Library Checkouts tab.
