How to request items
You can request or place a hold on items by:

Using the Library Catalogue
Log In to My Account
Browse or search for an item in the library catalogue website or on the library catalogue computers at any of our libraries.
On the search results pages items that can be checked out will have a Place Hold button (1) that you can click to request the item.
A window will open with a drop down list to select the Library branch where you wish to pick up the item:
Until the branch libraries reopen following the COVID-19 lockdowns, the Pickup Library is set to Central only.
You will receive a notice by email or post when the hold is ready for you to pick up.
Holds are held for you for 10 days.
There is a charge of $1 for uncollected holds, so please log in to My Account to cancel an unwanted hold or contact us by phone or email.
Managing your Holds
Click on the My Account link in the top red banner to open your account details.
Click on the strong>Library Holds tab (1) to view all your requests. If you have holds ready to pick up a green alert icon will appear in the tab.
Any holds that are available for you to pickup will also appear at the top of the list with the alert icon (2).
You can click on the title or image of any item to view its detail page.
From this section, you can also cancel a hold, edit a hold's pickup location (Library) or suspend a hold.
Select the items you want, or select them all, by using the Select All check box (3) and then click one of these buttons (4):
Cancel Hold(s): After you click this button, a window will open to confirm the cancellation. Click Yes to cancel the hold or No to go back.
Edit Pickup Location(s): After you click this button, a window will open where you can select the new pickup location. Click Change to change the location or Cancel to go back.
If, for instance, you will be away when the hold will be available for you to collect, click this button and on the calendar select the start date and end date to specify dates between which you do not want to pick up a hold
Your name is temporarily removed from the hold queue and at the end of the suspension period your original place in the hold queue is restored.

Cancel Hold Suspension: When you click this button, a window will open to confirm the cancellation. Click Yes to cancel the hold suspension or No to go back.
If you belong to a user group, the Group Holds section will display all the items that are currently on hold by all the members of your group.
